I like the idea of 3D photos and they are cool. While I suspect that this could be future for photography, but the concerns in my mind are:
1) until everyone has 3D TVs, only a limited number of people can enjoy the photo,
2) with no 3D paper (that I know of yet), it limits display to electronic media, and
3) will this lesson the importance of photographic style and talent for the sake of technology?

Could be a useful add-on, but to bad the sensor quality of the Fujifilm W3 3D is, well, very bad. I own one, but the image quality is way to low.

The concept of the 3D image is still pretty new to most viewers. Its only recently that true 3D movies are catching the eye of the world. It will indeed be interesting to see what happens with regards to physical prints and this technology. As Terry Lewandowski said, I'm not sure of any 3D paper available yet.
I can think of many Photography Ideas though when that tech is available. Especially with the Macro ability mentioned in this article.

Wow, it's amazing how little people know about 3D. It is nowhere near new however it is becoming easier to do. These are great add-on's for the w3. Also "3D paper" has been around for a long time too. Look up lenticular image, this is an area of 3D that has and will continue to see improvements like glasses free 3D tvs. Fujifilm will mail you 3D prints taken from your 3D cameras for a fee. While I don't have many 3D cameras I suspect they will accept any 3D format from any 3D camera for their lenticular 3D prints.
