Internationally renowned landscape and travel photographer David Noton has announced two brand new photographic workshops in the beautiful Languedoc region of south-west France. ‘With our 4x4 vehicles on hand, we can whisk guests off to the very best locations for dawn and dusk shoots as well as for informative tutorials in the field,’ David says. There’s plenty to do and see - including spa facilities within the hotel itself and hiking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, water sports, crafts and markets all nearby. DAVID NOTON LAUNCHES LONG WEEKEND WORKSHOPS IN LANGUEDOC, FRANCE

Landscape and travel photographer David Noton has launched two brand new photographic workshops in the beautiful Languedoc region of south west France.

Following on from the sell-out success of his Italian workshops in Umbria, David will be offering two, long weekend courses this September.

‘The location we’ve found is just perfect for photography – where we can immerse ourselves in this stunning and atmospheric region of France.  Languedoc is one of my favourite places in the whole country and encapsulates all that France has to offer photographically.

‘With our 4x4 vehicles on hand, we can whisk guests off to the very best locations for dawn and dusk shoots as well as for informative tutorials in the field.  There is a great deal of photographic potential in this area, with the rolling verdant landscapes, interspersed with the vineyards of Corbières and Minerve and quaint villages of The Montagne Noire and the Canal du Midi - while all the time to the south lurk the peaks of the Pyrenees.

‘Tree lined avenues and picturesque markets complete the quintessential French visual package. Throw in the incomparable vista of the medieval Cite of Carcassone, the charm of the Lauragais countryside and the Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park and you’ll see why we’re so excited about running workshops here!’

Staying in the 3 star Abbaye Ecole de Soreze, non-photographic partners are positively encouraged to come along too.  There’s plenty to do and see - including spa facilities within the hotel itself and hiking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, water sports, crafts and markets all nearby.

The workshops run Friday to Tuesday on 10-14 & 17-21 September. For full details, please visit http://www.davidnoton.com or contact David Noton Photography on 01963 250061.

I've not looked into and and examined a shot like I did with this one for a long time.

Well done David Norton.

Location does matters a lot for the photography.
Yesterday I was designing a magazine cover and the photograph I wanted to use was so tightly composed I could not crop a bleed A4 out of the 35mm shape without wrecking the picture - but it had maximum impact. I ended up putting strips of black down each side of the shot on the cover. I could make that decision, it's my magazine and does not sell on news-stands. Many designers don't have that choice and the picture would have been rejected as impossible to fit.
