Modernists back on the scene

LONDON, UK Highly acclaimed music photographer Dean Chalkley will unveil his latest hotly anticipated exhibition in London on the 4th March.

Named by Paul Weller former front man of The Jam, The New Faces is the study of eight young ‘Modernists’, young men and women bound together by their shared passion for smart dressing and great dancing and R’n’B.

Chalkley has acquired the help of award-winning East London-based photographic print studio theprintspace to produce the photographs on high quality Hahnemuhle Photorag paper.
theprintspace’s Max Munton said, “Chalkley has set milestones in photographing Music, Fashion and Subcultures . The New Faces is no different, perfectly capturing a familiar, but at the same time very hip and evolving ‘scene’ rooted in the past but growing and evolving in this modern age.“

Hahnemuhle Photorag paper in many ways resonates the essence of the exhibition. It reproduces a nostalgic, retro feel that could be compared to the first wave of the Mod movement of the late 1950s early 1960s, and provides a refreshing modern feeling of quality that these contemporary young Modernists present.

This paper also could be seen as the antidote to the post sterile photographic movements of the last decade and is great for black and white shots.

The New Faces opens at The Book Club with a private view on 4 March. If you want to get yourself on the guestlist, contact Liat at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or join the Facebook group for more updates. The party continues until 2am and then runs until 29 April.
