Digital Camera Magazine Reviews Samsung Digimax 301

Samsung Digimax 301Digital Camera Magazine have just reviewed the entry-level 3 megapixel Samsung Digimax 301.

“Getting back to more important stuff, one of the major drawbacks of this camera is the lack of optical zoom, even at this money. Unless you’re really on a tight budget, it’s rarely worth settling for an exclusively digital zoom, even on an entry level camera. The zoom on the 301 is so compromised, it’s hardly worth mentioning, and we ended up walking closer to an object to shoot it rather than relying on the zoom. “

I bought a SD 256 MB for my camera. I put some pictures in memory of the camera and another in Merory card to see later in TV.
When I turn on within SD in camera, it turn on Ok, but when I removed the SD and turn on the camera, this freeze on intro picture and the led only flash for ever, only for turn off is removing battery.
Another time, with SD inside of camera, I take pictures, then remove some images for gain space, then take more pictures, when I turn on the camera later, this freeze again on intro picture. I get the SD, put in a PC, download all pictures, format the memory card and put into camera and this torn on Ok.
How I delete or format the internal memory of camera (16 MB)?
When the camera is out, I press and hold the menu button and then press the power on button, the camera is blocked (don't turn on animore), only to unblock is removing batteries. I tried other buttons combination for format the internal memory, but don't happen anything.
There are a shortcut or tip for do this?, delete the internal memory or turn on when connected to PC for format later?
How can I do?
Thanks, regards.

It appears you are in a Catch-22. When you use the Format or Delete functions with the memory card installed, it only formats or deletes pictures from the memory card. In order to format or delete pictures from the internal memory, you must use these functions with the memory card removed. However, whenever you turn the camera ON with memory card removed, the camera locks up at the time the Startup image is displayed.

Before doing anything, if you want to save the pictures you have stored in the camera's internal memory, try copying them to your SD card using the Copy to Card function.

The first thing I would try is to turn the Startup image OFF which is done by selecting the MYCAM menu tab. Do this with the SD card IN the camera, then turn OFF the camera, remove the SD card, and try turning the camera ON. If the camera does not lock up, go to the Format or Delete menus to format or delete the pictures from the internal memory.

If that does not work, the other thing I would try is an Initialization (RESET ALL) of the camera as shown in the manual. Do this with the SD card IN the camera, then turn OFF the camera, remove the SD card, and try turning the camera ON. If the camera does not lock up, go to the Format or Delete menus to format or delete the pictures from the internal memory.

If that does not work, I don't know what to tell you.
