Digital Outback Photo Reviews Curvemeister Photoshop Plugin

Mark Goldstein | Software | March 26, 2004 | 2 Comments

Digital Outback Photo have just reviewed a new Photoshop plugin called Curvemeister (PC only), which adds some missing functionality to Photoshop’s Curves feature:

“Why in the world would someone make a Curves plugin for Photoshop? Photoshop Curves are a powerful tool but the list of missing features may answer the question and Curvemeister implements them all:

No Histogram
Only one color mode (if image is in RGB) and switching color modes is no fun for a productive workflow (we also use mostly layers)
No support to correct colors by using gray/neutral parts of the image
Ever wanted to use the curves you used on the the third last image and did not save the curves settings?
Curves do not work in PS Elements 2 (here Curvemeister is essential)”

Wow, what a great idea grin

Now go use real curves in the best photo editor: Picture Window Pro at http://www.dl-c.com

By the way, Mark. It would be really nice if you could try and review PWP. Need to spread the word about this great software written by one of the great software writers, Jonathan Sachs (He wrote Lotus 1-2-3).

Yes, PWP is an excellent program. I wish curvemeister ran with it!

BTW - there is a new version of curvemeister that includes a number of nifty features, including a histogram that changes in real time to reflect your curve settings.

Take care.
