Digital Photography Blog have just reviewed the Canon Powershot S1 IS digital camera, which offers 10x image stablised zoom, 3 megapixels and high-quality 640 x 480 video at 30 frames/second with sound.
“I found the image quality of the many shots I took on the Canon Powershot S1 IS to be very good using a variety of settings. Images were generally sharply focused and well exposed in a variety of lighting condidtions.
I did notice a small amount of barrel distortion at the widest angle zoom settings and at the other end of the zoom there was some chromatic aberration (purple fringing) which is often a problem for cameras with large zooms like this. Colors were well represented and noise levels were reasonable for a camera in its class - although things get a little noisy at 200 ISO or over.”

I just bought a Powershot A75 and now want to get a card reader and charger/rechargeable batteries. Obviously Canon recommends using only their products, but has anyone found there to be problems if you don’t??? Thanks.

I use a cheap CF card reader and generic batteries from 7dayshop.com with both my Canon EOS 10D and G3, without any problems whatsoever.

PowerShot S1 IS will not turn on at all and just the day before I took pictures and downloaded onto pc the put camera away and when I took it out to use it did not turn on at all even though I put new batteies in.
Please help if you can.
