I bought a D70 in September 2004. Aside from regular problems with dust on the sensor (despite cautious lens-changing), I love it! It really does almost everything I could want it to.

The autofocus and auto exposure modes are fantastic. I recently took some pictures of a grass-head that was moving in the a light breeze with a 75-300 mm zoom (112.5 - 450 35mm equivalent). This would have been impossible with my old N8008s; it hunted excruciatinly with that lens. By simply setting the camera to the "action" mode, I was able to get a fairly sharp result [http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=5318798&size=l]. The AF simply kept the grass head sharp with no hunting or racking in and out. The lens is probably about 10 years old, but still relays information to the camera about zoom settings to the new camera body. Trust Nikon for that kind of interoperability and consistency!
