DSLRClean Review at About Photography

About Photography have reviewed the DSLRClean, a sensor cleaning product that uses a unique micro-pore swab to create a mini vacuum effect, gently lifting dust from both CCD and CMOS type sensors.

“DSLRClean provides a reasonably simple and effective method for cleaning the sensor of your dSLR camera, but it is not a miracle cure. My problems may well be a result of inexperience, but the average user is never going to become particularly proficient, as sensors should only be cleaned when necessary.”

It's ridiculous that new and new sensor cleaning techniques and products have to be developed because most D-SLR manufacturers are too lazy to address the issue in a serious manner. Olympus are the only camera maker that have implemented a reassuring solution to the problem of dust getting on the sensor when changing lenses. Why can't all the others follow suit???

(This whole thing reminds me of the days of Socialism, when CSD bottles often had caps that would not come off. Instead of the drinks manufacturer's using better caps, ingenious inventors came up with various devices that you could use to screw the damn cap off the bottle!)
