March 7, 2012 – DxO Labs announces the immediate availability of DxO FilmPack v3.2 for Mac and Windows.

Thanks to DxO Labs’ advanced calibration technologies, DxO FilmPack brings all the emotion and creativity of silver halide photography to your digital images. By means of a simple and intuitive interface, both beginning and expert photographers alike can apply any of the authentic characteristics of color, contrast, saturation, and grain of more than 60 famous analog films to a digital photo. With 25 additional renderings and numerous processing tools available, DxO FilmPack offers users a palette of infinite creativity.

INCREASED POWER AND SPEED

The software algorithms have been adapted to run in 64 bits. DxO FilmPack is now able to process very large files of up to 200 megapixels.

Further, this new version has been optimized, particularly with respect to managing memory. The software starts up almost instantaneously, and image processing is up to two times faster than in version 3.1.

In addition, users can now use arrow keys as well as improved scroll wheel action for more intuitive navigation within the renditions library.

CREATIVITY AND EMOTIONS TO SHARE

Thanks to the large number of controls available, photographers can unleash their creativity and lend a unique atmosphere to their images. Well, that was an effing waste of time. I downloaded the trail version, installed it... restarted my computer and tried to use it in Aperture, and all the plug in would do was start to load, then bounce endlessly on my launch pad and freeze my computer.

If DxO wants my business, they will have to do better than that.

Now off to delete plug-in from my hard drive.

Just had the same problem. I have just completed a complete restore of my MacbookPro hard disc from a Superduper bootable backup as I couldn't even shut down the app or the macbook once it was running. Proper pain in the neck

I mailed DxO after having the problem outlined above and they replied the same day with a link to a patch that manages the memory used by Film Pack 3.2. It does slow the application down apparently but I have not tried it as I deleted Film Pack during the restore and am not really happy about trying it again just at the moment - too much work to do to spend another evening rebuilding my hard drive structure.

If anyone is interested the link is here and you are advised to use the 'LOW' setting
