The Epson DX8400 and Epson DX7400 are new all-in-one four colour inkjet printers featuring Epson’s DURABrite Ultra Ink. Both models offer fast print speeds of up to 32ppm and it takes 26 seconds for a 10x15cm photo in draft, borderless mode. The Epson DX8400 Series additionally features a 6.3cm LCD viewer. The DX7400 will cost £79.99 and the DX8400 £99.99, available from 3rd September 2007.

Epson’s new DURABrite™ Ultra Ink all-in-one series delivers premium quality prints at fast speeds

The new Epson Stylus DX7400 Series and Epson Stylus DX8400 Series all-in-one four colour inkjet printers boast fast print speeds and Epson’s DURABrite™ Ultra Ink for high-quality printing, scanning and copying.

20th August 2007 – The Stylus DX7400 and DX8400 Series combine all the essential components for the home and home office. A new print head design delivers fast print speeds of up to 32ppm and it takes approximately 26 seconds for a 10x15cm photo in draft, borderless mode. Memory card slots and PictBridge connectivity are also included for computer-free printing. The Epson Stylus DX8400 Series additionally boasts a 6.3cm LCD viewer for viewing and printing photos without a PC.  Both models are also cost effective with four individual ink cartridges at €9.99 each, so only the colour that is used needs to be replaced.

The Epson Stylus DX7400 and Epson Stylus DX8400 Series are both equipped with an improved Epson Micro Piezo™ print head. It features a new printing mechanism that increases the rate at which ink droplets can be ejected from the nozzles.  The result is faster printing for all document types without a sacrifice on quality. 

Epson Creativity Suite software is included to manage, file and print photos.  With its user-friendly interface it is easy to access images from a range of devices such as a digital camera or scanner, while Epson Easy Photo Print makes it simple to remove red-eye.

Both models also feature Epson PhotoEnhance to get the best out of photography. It automatically detects skin tones, landscapes and skylines to give the best colour settings for high-quality photos. 

Epson DURABrite UltraTM Ink is an advanced pigment-based ink technology that encapsulates each pigment particle in a protective resin coating.  This makes the ink resistant to water, smudging and fading. The resin and pigment particle have also been optimised to offer higher gloss photos when printing on glossy media and sharper laser-like text for printing documents. The new formulation is compatible with the following Epson DURABrite Ultra models launched in 2006: Epson Stylus D78, Stylus DX4000 Series, Stylus DX5000 Series, Stylus DX6000 Series and Stylus DX7000F.  Therefore existing users can also benefit from these improvements.

With a 1200dpi scanner it is easy to make stand-alone copies or scan via the PC. Epson Easy Photo Fix™ will restore colour, remove dust and correct backlight on faded or old scanned photos. Also included is ABBYY FineReader® Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, which makes it easy to scan and edit text.
