Are you able to copy images from a CF disk onto a SD card using this device?
I want to be able to email pictures taken with my digiSLR using my Pocket PC phone when away on holiday without resorting to taking a laptop

This Epson P-2000 is the "dog's bollocks", as we say in Britain. I'd buy one today if it wasn't for the fact it doesn't support MPEG1. I have two cameras - a Nikon D70, and a Sony DSC-V1 Cybershot which shoots MPEG1 movies. To discover that the Epson P-2000 has everything I could wish for except the MPEG1 support was such a disappointment.

The only other product that I'm aware of which comes close to offering everything I need seems to be the Vosonic X'S-Drive Super VP6210 you reviewed - but then that little 2" screen does let it down quite badly.

Is there something out there that's got it all - or am I asking for the moon on a stick?

Anyway, thanks for such great reviews. I'll stay tuned.

I would like to be able to operate/charge the P-2000 while in a car. Do you know of any compatible car adapters that would work? Also, am I correct in assuming that the battery can't be charged from a powered usb port?

One downside you do not mention is that it will not let you place your images in the order you choose for a slide show. At least that is what I have discovered and was told by techinical support. This is very frustration if you want to use your device for presentations. If you or anyone knows how to overcome this problem I would appreciate an e-mail. Otherwise I agree with everything you said.

You can always use a small 12v to 120vac inverter to plug into your lighter socket in your car and plug the ac charger into that, I do this with the P2000 and also my notebook...40watt inverter is about 20-$30..

Regarding the post from Alan about the files ordering in the slide show of the P2000, I am still trying to bypass it with no result. Any ideas? 8 bit file system also annoying but still a great tool for professionals.

I'm thinking of buying an Epson P2000 but what I actually need is a photo viewer/storer AND a general purpose portable hardrive. Will the P2000 act as a general hardrive and allow me to store/transfer spreadsheets, WORD files etc? Or will it only accept multimedia files? Any help gratefully received.

Mark - thanks for a very informative site. Have you ever figured out how to re-arrange the order of the photos on the Epson? I have my second presentation on climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro next week and it is very hard to use my Epson to make a presentation because I can't re-arrange the order of the photos!

mark,,please help me,, i want to show pics on my tv, i have set the video out to pal (uk)
i am using an i pod av lead ,when i plug it in the p2000 screen goes blank but nothing comes on the tv,, i got the 2000 so i could load pics onto it and show my mum (who lives 200 miles away) the pics on her tv ,, reallyt wanted it for easter sunday,, i`m struggling please help

Hi geo,

It all sounds as though it's working OK, until you get to the TV part. You have set the P-2000 to PAL and used an AV cable to connect it to your TV. The P-2000 screen should go blank when you do that. Step 3, Page 59 of the manual says Set the TV display to video input from P-2000. I'm guessing that you haven't set your TV appopriately? It might also be worth trying a different AV cable if you have one.

Just found this site thanks for an interesting read. I only wish I found you before I made my purchase of the P2000. I have a nikon D200 I was led to believe the P2000 took Nikon Raw I now find it is not compatible. Do you know if any firmware is due out. If not I have made the wrong move. Can you please help.
