The HP7960 already claims 70+ years print life and judging by the review on photo-i.co.uk should give the new Epson a run for it's money.
It will be interesting to see how the HP and Epson compare, particularly in the B&W area which the HP7960 seems to do very well.

HP claims 70+ on one type of paper (HP paper) despite Epson ink last longer one a lot of type of paper.

There was a comment left on an earlier post about the 7960 by Fazal Majid, who bought the new HP printer and then took it back for a refund:

Just another point of view.
I was tempted by the HP 7960 when it was first announced, but now that the R800 is on the near-horizon, I'd rther wait and go for that.

Yes I would like to see a few more reviews and comparative tests of the HP7960. Fazal's experience does not bode well. I expected the HP7960 to attract a bit more attention from some of the photo web sites, but maybe it is early days yet. Unless Mark buys one and reviews it for us

I'd try and get a review unit from HP, but so far I haven't even been able to contact their PR department successfully :-(

Some good news is that Epson are sending me the A3 Stylus 2100 Photo printer next week to review
