Ethiopian Wolf Documentary Project
Nature and wildlife photographers Rebecca Jackrel and William Burrard-Lucas have launched a new conservation project to raise awareness and support for the ongoing efforts to save the endangered Ethiopian Wolf. They will be going to Ethiopia to photograph the wolves and document the serious threats that they face. In the hope that the project can be funded through donations from the public, Rebecca and Will have set up a Kickstarter page and created a dedicated website. Interested readers are encouraged to visit these pages to learn more about the project and how they can help make it happen.

It's strange that a blog entry about wolves would feature the photo of a coyote.

Thanks for the comment Guney but that is an Ethiopian Wolf, not a coyote. The two species are genetically related to the Grey wolf and look similar on the surface but if you look more closely you'll begin to see the differences. The Ethiopian Wolf has a much longer snout and more delicate narrow head than the coyote and the red pelt color and markings are very different. Not to mention the two do not exist on the same continent.

I stand corrected. Apologies...
I find it striking that an Ethiopian wolf would resemble a North American coyote more than it does a North American wolf.

The first time I saw them I thought a coyote had mated with a red fox. Pretty cool how nature adapts, eh?
