Digital Film Tools Press Release
We are pleased to announce the release of Film Stocks v1.5 . Film Stocks offers a wide range of preset looks as well as the necessary controls to create analog film stock presets from scratch, including color correction, curves, colored filters, sharpness, diffusion, vignetting and film grain. Apply one of the many presets and customize the settings, or create your own interesting looks and simulations and save them as presets to use in the future or share with colleagues.
We have been working hard over the last several months to produce a GPU accelerated version of Film Stocks and are finally ready to release it. We have implemented OpenCL as our method of acceleration and most modern graphics cards can take advantage of this technology. In most cases, you should see dramatic speed increases while rendering.
If you are an existing Film Stocks user, Film Stocks v1.5 is installed alongside Film Stocks v1.0, so you can keep the older version installed. In fact, v1.5 uses the same license as v1.0. You know what that means don’t you? Film Stocks v1.5 is a free upgrade to existing Film Stocks customers. Woo hoo!
If you participated in our pre-release of Film Stocks v1.5, please uninstall the previous version and install the new one as there were some last minute fixes.
