Mark Goldstein | Software | October 25, 2004 | 2 Comments

Fred Miranda has released Velvia Vision, a new Photoshop plug-in designed to enhance color and tone in your photographs.

It provides a 200% range of error-free color intensity as well as smart algorithms to increase contrast, create moods and expand tonal range. With this new tool, photographers can preview settings and tweak intensity results for maximum control over their work. Another feature unique to this plugin, is that you can save and load your own Velvia Vision profiles.

This plug-in is compatible with JPEG files straight from the camera or TIFF/JPEG files converted from RAW files. (Compatible with all digital camera or scanned film files)

It doesn't work with layers, like the Intellisharpen II. This is a major drawback. I don't like flattening me images during processing.
Also to me this just controls the warmth of the image, rather than emulating Velvia - the first version strenghtened the greens as well.
Paid the money - but will not be using it as part of my workflow.

This is a FANTASTIC plug in that I over use constantly! It really makes landscapes POP. And since people are becoming more accepting of the 'comic book look' i/e: over saturated colors, this is THE program to us for that look. A great value too.
