Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd Review
The Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd is a fashion-conscious digital camera with a surprising number of advanced features which make it well worth a second look. At less than 20mm thick and weighing just 135g, the all-metal Fujifilm Z100fd offers an unusual 5x optical zoom lens, image stabilisation, face detection, 2.7 inch screen and 8 megapixels. Did the Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd impress us with more than its good looks? Mark Goldstein found out…

I enjoyed your review. I am trying to replace my Minolta Dimage X. I am interested in cameras with few external movable parts. I travel in remote, dusty areas.
I really would like to have a place to attach a cord. I place a loop cord over my neck so that I won't drop the camera. I like the light weight so I can carry in my shirt pocket.
I would also like an optical viewfinder, but it looks like noone is offering this feature in this type of camera.
I also like a batter charger with a cord and not the built in prongs since I travel in areas with different power types.
I would like a comparision list of small compact, internal lenses types. So far the Fujifilm z100fd seems to be the best choice.
Anyhow, thanks much for all the useful information.

Well thought-out review which I feel
covers all the important features
and qualities. I liked the images
and the warning about ISO 200 and above.

Very definitive review. I was considering buying this camera for my wife as a point-and-shoot camera with a decent zoom for when she's out and about and doesn't have me around show her how to use the different features of a modern digital camera. I was 90% convinced that this was the camera for her until I read this review. Now I am 90% convinced that it isn't. Although fancy features and a small size are nice to have (and attractive looks even more so in my wife's case) there's no point having it all if the images aren't up to standard.
