The pioneering imaging specialist announces winners of the ‘2009 HARMAN PHOTO CRYSTALJET RC Student Competition’

HARMAN technology is delighted to announce the winning entries to its HARMAN PHOTO CRYSTALJET RC Student Competition. Open to photography students across the UK, the competition asked entrants to deliver their creation – from two key themes, ‘Interaction’ or ‘Today’ – with submissions made on the new HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC inkjet paper.

Students were in with a chance of winning a digital print workshop with renowned photographer Keith Moss, alongside £100 worth of HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC inkjet products. There was also six runner-up prizes, each winning £50 worth of HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC inkjet paper.

Adding a further incentive for students and tutors to promote the competition within their faculty, a prize was lined up for the college that submitted the most entries. HARMAN technology has donated £750 of HARMAN PHOTO inkjet paper to Truro College as a thank you for being particularly enthusiastic about the competition and encouraging students to take part.

The judging panel consisted of two HARMAN technology directors with decades of experience in photography excellence, Steven Brierley, Director of Marketing and Simon Galley, Director of Export Sales. Both were very impressed with the high standard of entries sent in, as Steven Brierley commented:

“The categories of ‘Today’ and ‘Interaction’ were deliberately broad in order to encourage a diverse range of images. The competition entries reflect the talent and enthusiasm of our future stars in photography – it was a difficult decision to pick an overall winner.”

“However, the winning image we selected really brought out the attributes of our HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC inkjet paper. It’s truly a stunning piece of photography and a worthy winner.”

The overall winner is Jonathan Lewis from Southport College for his entry, ‘Donalda in bath’. Three runners up were chosen from each themed category, each winning £50 of HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC inkjet paper.
