I am impressed with the Black & White printing capability of the 7960. It looks like high quality B&W home printing is now available at an affordable price. I already have a Epson 1290, but I can see myself purchasing a 7960 just for B&W. A pity there isn't an A3 version of this printer. I wonder if Epson or Canon will respond. The 1290 and 2100 are a bit long in the tooth now, so maybe Epson will announce new printers as well shortly.

I wish HP had announced an A3 version too. The HP Deskjet 9650 is their A3 printer but it uses different technology. FYI the No. 59 b&w cartridge has an RRP of £29.99 - you can see where HP hope to make most of their profit!

How many prints do you get for £30??
Hopefully the cartridges will be available a bit cheaper than that through Internet suppliers such as 7dayshop.

That's the question...If you can get, say, 60 A4 prints from a single cartridge, then £0.50 per print for black ink isn't too bad ...Is there anyone out there with an HP printer who can give a more accurate indication? I'm sure Vincent over at Photo-i will give some idea of cartridge-life and print costs in his review of the 7960.
