HP Photosmart M22 Review at TrustedReviews

HP Photosmart M22TrustedReviews have published their review of the 4 megapixel HP Photosmart M22 digital camera.

“Finally we come to image quality, and here’s where the bad news really starts. Even under ideal conditions on a bright sunny day the images lack definition and look massively over-processed. With the Adaptive Lighting turned off images look like they’ve been blurred and then sharpened again, edges are jagged and pixelated, whereas areas of colour lack any detail and look like they were painted on with a brush. Add the adaptive lighting into the mix and shadow areas fill up with random colour noise and artefacts. Use the digital zoom and all you are left with is vague shapes with no detail at all. Flash range is severely limited, and coverage does not reach into the corners of the frame. All in all, a very disappointing performance even considering the budget price.”

For those whom consider HP purchases from Military Exchanges in Japan, please consider this, repair and service is in America, this creates a time consideration. Sony has repair/service here in Japan. Please consider this, and check for updates, I was involved in a repair situation last year and I got the Sony done with satisfaction, during the process I heard complaints from HP owners.
Service and repair availability has to be a big consideration in purchases.

I bought this camera as a christmas gift for my husband last year, mostly for taking pictures of our baby girl born this march. it seemed to be such a great camera for us beginners when one day out of the blue, i went to use it and the thing would not turn on. thinking, okay maybe batteries died, i went out and bought new high tech expensive ones and still nothing. talk to customer service rep who says warranty expired (it expires after 90 days, i thought high quality items usually have at least a year) and the amounts to have it serviced went from $85 up to $200. well i still want to know why the thing just stops working one day out of the blue when you take good care of it and it is only six months old!! and as far as getting it serviced goes, i think i'll just get a brand new camera for those amounts. theres one guarantee i'll make...it won't be an hp.
