International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) has announced the winner of the first photo contest in its ‘4 seasons’ series. The winners are Tom Wundrak (for his image, “Frozen Beauty”, reproduced above), Elspeth Briscoe and Anthony Beck. The overall winner receives a £500 cash prize and all the finalists will receive a copy of ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 03’ published by David and Charles. RESULTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR’S WINTER ‘4 SEASONS’ COMPETITION 2010 

The first winter ‘4 seasons’ competition was a huge success and attracted a range of impressive entries with its theme ‘Winter Beauty’.

The ‘4 seasons’ competition is supported by Landscape Juice (www.landscapejuice.com).

The winners are Tom Wundrak, Elspeth Briscoe and Anthony Beck. The overall winner receives a £500 cash prize and all the finalists will receive a copy of ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 03’ published by David and Charles (http://www.rubooks.co.uk). They have also been awarded points which will be taken through to the judging of the main competition which finishes on 30th November 2010.

Organiser, Philip Smith, said:

“We had a fascinating selection of images submitted from all over the world. As always, the judges look for that ‘extra dimension’ and we feel that all of the finalists achieved that. We are delighted that the new seasonal category has proved so popular with keen photographers. They were all singled out variously for their simplicity, exuberance, light quality and originality.”

Everyone who enters goes automatically through to the main International Garden Photographer of the Year competition with a closing date of
