The iPhone Photography Awards have announced the winners of the 7th Annual Contest in the Photographers of the Year and following seventeen categories: Animals, Architecture, Children, Flowers, Food, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, News/Events, Others, People, Seasons, Still Life, Sunset, Travel and Trees  The overall winner is Julio Lucas, who will receive an iPad Air (16GB, Wi-Fi) for the photo reprinted above.

2014 iPhone Photography Awards Winners Announced

NEW YORK - June 10, 2014 - iPhone Photography Awards™ (IPPAWARDS) today announced the winners of the 7th Annual Contest in the Photographers of the Year and following seventeen categories: Animals, Architecture, Children, Flowers, Food, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, News/Events, Others, People, Seasons, Still Life, Sunset, Travel and Trees.

This year's winning entries submitted by iPhone photographers from 54 iPhone photographers of following 17 countries: Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States.

Prizes
The three winners in the Photographer of the Year will receive an iPad Air (16GB, Wi-Fi). The first place winner in each category will be awarded a Gold Bar from the most recognizable private gold mint in the world.

Very inspiring seeing what great photographers can do with just an iPhone

This further proves that good photographers are not dependent upon the equipment they use. If there is no zoom, for instance, a good photographer will either find the means to come closer, or pick a theme that suits whatever kind of a lens is available.
Also, every photo shows the existence of an idea and purpose well before the shot was executed - a small basic requirement which is all too often overlooked, or perhaps, even worse, never told to newbie photographers...
