Kenko C-Mount Camera System
Kenko are showcasing an interchangeable lens compact camera system based around the C-mount standard. Originally designed for movie camera lenses, the C-mount measures 1 inch in diameter. Mockups of no less than 14 lenses and a camera body are currently on display at the Tokyo International Gift Show in Japan (Kenko’s stand pictured above). The Kenko C-Mount Camera System will be priced at around 30,000 Yen with release in Japan planned for Summer 2011.

Wonder how large the sensor is?
You can use c-mount lenses on a micro four-thirds camera (with adaptor), although there is vignetting depending on the lens.

Wow 30,000 YEN... If my maths is correct that's only US$370. I hope the lens quality is high as this will make the perfect addition to my kit.

The sensor is around 1/2.33 (crop factor x5.6). This is basically a low end compact camera with interchangable lens, not really exciting, except for the fast lens available. But no video is a letdown.

It's rubbish then. Where oh WHERE is the old 2/3" sensor? It would be a great match for 2/3" and 1" CCTV lenses and it would produce good images.
