Kuuvik Capture is a feature-laden Canon EOS tethering application for Mac OS X. In addition to offering a typical set of remote shooting tools, Kuuvik Capture provides real-time parametric sharpening coupled with an adjustable focus peaking overlay as well as various compositional aids such as preset and adjustable guidelines and grids. Other highlights include the capability to display a histogram based on raw image data and, with select cameras, a split-view display of the camera’s live view image, allowing simultaneous evaluation of focus and superior control over depth of field. Kuuvik Capture also supports exposure bracketing, which can be combined with an intervalometer function to shoot user-defined image sequences for HDR images or time-lapse videos. The application is licensed on a per camera basis, with prices starting at $79.99. A fully functional 30-day trial version is available from the website below.

Kuuvik Press Release

Kuuvik Capture, a new feature-rich Canon EOS tethering software for Mac

Kuuvik Digital has released Kuuvik Capture, a remote shooting solution supporting Canon EOS cameras. Besides general camera control, the software features a set of advanced tools to adjust and evaluate composition, exposure and focus.

Taking live view further than what cameras currently have to offer, Kuuvik Capture provides real time parametric sharpening coupled with an adjustable focus peaking overlay in various modes. The live view-based composition tools include preset and adjustable guidelines, and live view image rotation.

The software’s innovative features include the introduction of a split view display of the camera’s live view image, allowing simultaneous evaluation of focus at critical image areas and more control over depth of field, and the capability to display a RAW image-based histogram in order to support the evaluation of proper exposure.

Kuuvik Capture also provides exposure bracketing, which can be combined with intervalometer (interval-timer) function to shoot user-defined image sequences for HDR images or time-lapse videos.

System requirements:
Mac or MacBook computer with a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or better processor.
2 GB RAM (4 GB is highly recommended).
100 MB free disk space for the application,
Minimum 1280 x 800 pixels monitor resolution.
