Latest PhotographyBLOG Poll Results

Mark Goldstein | PhotographyBLOG | November 26, 2004 | 4 Comments

The latest PhotographyBLOG Poll was really for my own use, asking “What screen resolution are you using?”. PhotographyBLOG is designed for a resolution of 1024x768 or larger, which seems to be justified given that over 90% of you voted for those screen resolutions:

640x480 [9 votes]
800x600 [59 votes]
1024x768 [411 votes]
1280x1024 [337 votes]
1600x1280 [114 votes]
PDA [5 votes]
No idea [22 votes]

The new PhotographyBLOG poll is a topical one ahead of the Holiday season: “Are you buying or receiving a digital camera this Christmas?”

My screen is 1280x1024. However, I prefer websites to be useable when only about 800 pixels wide, so that I can see other stuff on the screen at the same time. The BBC news website is an ideal width.

As a side note. Would it be possible to change your design from using tables to using divs and CSS styling? At the moment it takes ages for the content to appear because of this.

I as using 1152x864, great for 19", so I didn't vote. Why it wasn't in the list?

Ben - I've investigated using CSS for layout before and couldn't find anything that worked across all browsers. Hence the use of tables. Incidentally Safari displays the page a lot more quickly than IE.

Aleksandar -this was an oversight on my part grin
