Lensbaby’s Senior Style Portrait Photo Contest, which challenges US photographers to enter their best high-school senior portraits shot with one of the seven creative optics in the Lensbaby Optic Swap System, is now open for entries. Lensbaby staff will choose 50 finalists and post those images to a special folder on their Facebook page in October. Then, a panel of judges will choose three winners. Each winning photographer will score significant prizes that will allow them to outfit or upgrade their senior portrait tools and studio. The submission deadline is 30 September 2011, 2pm EDT.

Lensbaby Announces Senior Style Senior Portrait Photo Contest
Lensbaby highlights creative senior portraits with its Senior Style Portrait Contest
Portland, OR – September 1, 2011 – Lensbaby, manufacturer of creative effects camera lenses, announces today the beginning of its Senior Style Portrait Contest. In order to celebrate and reward outstanding, forward-looking Senior Portrait photography, Lensbaby has put together a contest full of exceptional prizes, with a Canon 5D Mark II camera being one of many valuable items in the grand prize package.
Lensbaby is known for helping photographers unlock their creativity, connect with their clients, and produce beautiful, ground-breaking images. This is especially critical in the highly competitive world of senior portrait photography, where differentiation is key. Seniors want to share with their friends, distinctive, creative images that show off their personality in a fun and unique way. Lensbaby’s Creative Effects Lens system is ideal for creating such imagery.
Throughout the summer, Lensbaby released a number of how-to videos along with tips that helped portrait photographers improve their Lensbaby skills. Now those portrait photographers have an opportunity to show off their best work by submitting up to three senior portraits, shot with any of the seven optics in the Lensbaby Optic Swap System. Photographers can submit their work to the contest site here.
Photographers can submit their best Lensbaby senior portrait photos beginning today at 2PM PDT, through September 30, 2011 at 2PM PDT. Lensbaby staff will choose 50 finalists and post those images to a special folder on their Facebook page in October. Then, a talented panel of judges will choose three winners – one Grand Prize winner, one 2nd Prize winner and one 3rd Prize winner. Each winning photographer will score significant prizes that will allow them to outfit or upgrade their senior portrait tools and studio.
The panel of expert judges will include Holli True, Lindsay Adler and Matt & Meghan Feyerabend with Aus 10 Photoartists.
Lensbaby has also partnered with SmugMug, who will host the submissions gallery as well as provide contest prizes. The current prize list includes products or services from these top-notch photographic brands: Animoto, Canon, Hoodman USA, Kubota Image Tools, Lensbaby, LensProToGo, Manfrotto, Miller’s Professional Imaging, Nasty Clamps, Red River Paper, RadioPopper, SmugMug, SYNC, Think Tank Photo, Westcott, and White House Custom Colour.
Photos submitted must be taken with a Lensbaby lens and Lensbaby optic.
Photos submitted must be jpgs and should not exceed 8MB in size.
Each person may submit up to three photos.
A senior portrait photograph, as defined for this contest, is a photograph of a person who appears to be of the appropriate high school senior age (approximate range of 16-20 years old). Photographs featuring subjects who appear to be outside of this age range may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the judges.
Photographers must be able to provide model releases signed by the subjects in the photos they submit. Lensbaby can provide blank model releases if the photographer does not have one. Contact email@example.com to request a copy.
Electronic submissions will be accepted from 2PM PDT on September 1, until 2pm, PDT, September 30, 2011.
By submitting to this contest, photographers consent to have their photo(s) displayed for up to 6 months on http://facebook.com/seeinanewway if selected as a finalist.
The winning images will be announced on or before November 30, 2011.
