Lunar Eclipse - The Making of a Photograph
Michael Reichmann has posted a very detailed account of how he took the lunar eclipse photograph that I reported on Saturday. It’s a very interesting insight into the world of a professional photographer, and well worth reading even if astronomy isn’t your main interest.

A great picture, with the key to success being planning and prepepation. As with most landscape photography, it is well worth doing your research before turning up to take photos.

I think you're the first person to work out how to post an image on my blog!
For everyone else, you need to host the image on your own webspace and link to it with the HTML image tag.
Have a look at the source for this page to see how Sean has done it - I can't post the exact code here because it keeps getting converted to an image!

If you want to post a picture you do so by entering an HTML image tag. Here is a montage of some pictures I took of the solar eclipse last December. Please excuse the quality as they were taken with my old 0.3 megapixel camera before I got my current one. They are the only eclipse related shots I have since it was cloudy and misty here when the lunar eclipse took place. Anyway they are just to demonstrate.
The URL to the image is
http://craniac.afraid.org/images/eclipse_04-12-2002.png
and the image tag for it looks like this
<img src="http://craniac.afraid.org/images/eclipse_04-12-2002.png">
which produces
