Magnum Workshops in Hamburg with Antoine D’Agata

On the occasion of the Hamburg Triennial of Photography Magnum Photos is delighted to announce a workshop with Antoine D’Agata in Hamburg. After numerous workshops, Antoine D’Agata lay down his hat in Hamburg for 5 intense days.

From June 16th to 20th, 2015, Antoine D’Agata will lead an intimate group through a daily program of shooting, reviews, group critiques, mentoring, editing sessions and the opportunity to learn amongst peers. In addition, the workshop will be open to adding other visual elements than self-produced pictures in the developing and storytelling around a subject.

“No moral attitude, no judgment, just is needed the ethics of affirmation to explore some universe, sharing it until the end without any precautions. A photographic act is in equilibrium, constantly questioned between photography as a documentary tool or a pure experience. It's not how a photographer looks at the world that is important. It's their intimate relationship with it.”
