Manfrotto - Photokina 2010
Manfrotto introduced several new product lines at the Photokina trade show. The Bassano del Grappa-based company best known for its professional tripods and heads is moving into new territory by embracing beginners and “social recorders”, i.e. people taking pictures with the primary aim to share them on social networking sites such as Facebook or MySpace. In order to fulfil the needs of these consumers, Manfrotto is now offering everything from compact aluminium tripods to stylish bags, including a line dedicated to women. Also new for the company is a collection of LED lights targeted at videographers, from the simple and compact Pocket to the professional-grade Maxima and Aura ranges.
Video-enabled DSLR cameras inspired Manfrotto’s first hybrid photo-video head, which is well suited to the demands of photographers and videographers alike. In addition to featuring pan, tilt and portrait functions like a traditional ballhead; the new hybrid head enables soft and fluid movements, provides sliding support and an adjustable balancing system. The load capacity of the new video head is 7kg in photo mode and 12kg in video mode.
Other new professional products on show include the Pro Tripod 057, offered in four different configurations, and the new Series 050 ballheads, available in three different sizes. Also new is the LINO collection of bags and apparel for professional photographers, amateurs and advanced amateurs; comprising a backpack, a messenger bag, a rolling bag, a box and a case, as well as three photo jackets and a photo vest.
The new tripods will be available to buy from January 2011 and the new Lino Collection Bags (Stile Collection) and Apparel (Lino Collection) from Spring 2011 - http://www.manfrotto.co.uk

Just to clarify, the coloured tripods were on the stand to get consumer feedback about the colours, these are not scheduled for launch. The lower row of tripods are scheduled to be available early 2011.
