Manfrotto today launched its new X-pro 3-way head (£114.95) for photographers who want maximum precision from a compact size. "Carrying a complete tripod and head takes up a lot of space in a photographer’s bag and means extra weight to carry," the company says. "This is why the new X-pro 3-way head has been designed to occupy as little space as possible, with retractable levers that can be extended when needed, but remain extremely compact when not in use." Measuring 13x13.5x13.5cm, the Manfrotto X-pro 3-way head weighs in at 1kg and has a maximum load capacity of 8kg.
Manfrotto Press Release
X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD
Compact engineering. Mighty performance.
1st March 2014 – Manfrotto, world leader in the photography and imaging equipment and accessories industry, is proud to announce the launch of the new X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD.
Designed for photographers who want maximum precision from a compact size. The new Manfrotto head has been designed to ensure three essential aspects to both the amateur and the professional photographer: portability through retractable levers, precision guaranteed by friction controls and reliability thanks to its aluminum body.
Carrying a complete tripod and head takes up a lot of space in a photographer’s bag and means extra weight to carry. This is why the new X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD has been designed to occupy as little space as possible, with retractable levers that can be extended when needed, but remain extremely compact when not in use. The X-PRO measures just 13cm x 13.5cm x 13.5cm (5.1” x 5.3” x 5.3”) when folded: nearly as tiny as a ball head.
Manfrotto has once again focused on the details that help make every picture perfect and has equipped the X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD with friction controls. Friction on the pan and tilt axes can be set to balance the weight of the camera even when the locking knobs are open, allowing fine framing adjustments to be made before the shot is locked down.
Furthermore, the head has three small leveling bubbles that help the photographer set the shot even more precisely in-camera, reducing post-production work.
MAX PAYLOAD 8kg (17.6lbs)
The X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD also distinguishes itself with its ratio of weight to payload: it weighs just 1kg, but can carry up to 8kg (17.6lbs). This is possible thanks to the all-aluminum body, a metal known for both its strength and lightness.
MADE IN ITALY
The new X-PRO 3-WAY HEAD, designed and made in Italy, is a great example of the quality and the stylish design of Manfrotto products. It sits alongside other key new products for professional and advanced hobby users, including the successful 055 and 190 tripod families, all of which share Manfrotto’s strong new aesthetic.
Available from the 1st March and priced at £114.95 SRP.
