Nero has released a new, free Windows 8 client for its NeroKwik mobile photo sharing service. Allowing a fully integrated photo sharing across mobile devices and social networks, NeroKwik maintains a cloud-based catalogue of “thumbnail” images of the user’s photos. The original, full-size images stay where they were originally stored. This makes it possible for every photo – even ones that were just taken – to be instantly and automatically available on any device through NeroKwik. The app is also available for Android, MacOS,iOS, Windows Phone and Amazon devices. “Syncing smartphones and tablets with PCs manually is a time consuming process. Users expect their mobile devices to give them full access and control over all their content,” said Nero Chief Product Office Martin Stein. “NeroKwik solves that problem and is the only mobile service that truly puts your entire photo library in your pocket.”
Nero Press Release
NeroKwik now available to Windows 8 users
NeroKwik now offers a consistent, fast, visually stunning interface to view and share photos stored on Windows 8 devices and Windows PCs in addition to existing platforms such as iPhone, iPad, Android Smartphones and Tablets, Facebook and Google+.
London, UK (April 29th, 2013) – The free NeroKwik mobile photo service, is now available to Windows 8 users, letting them enjoy all the benefits of keeping your entire photo library in your pocket without using up storage space on your mobile device.
NeroKwik now has a new client for Intel-based Windows 8 devices and a light client for Windows 7/Vista. This latest installation to the NeroKwik range means users can access the photo libraries stored on their PCs and external hard drives from nearly any mobile device, including iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones and Android tablets.
The addition of Windows 8 functionality now means the users from the three big mobile platforms can all instantly access, view, and share photos stored on any smartphone or tablet, even those with incompatible operating systems.
All the photos accessed through NeroKwik remain where they already are. Users don’t have to sync, upload, move or duplicate them manually in order to have all-the-time access to their entire collections.
New Custom Tapestries
Photo Tapestries, which are attractive and shareable photo collages, are a defining feature of NeroKwik. The new release of NeroKwik introduces custom Tapestries. With just a tap and drag, photos can be reordered and resized exactly how the user wants.
A new, supercharged timeline update is the easiest and fastest way yet to browse through a large photo library on a mobile device. Newly captured photos, even those taken with other mobile devices, are added to the NeroKwik timeline automatically.
Performance improvements in the latest release of NeroKwik are substantial. Cataloging photos on a new device or online service for the first time happens up to 50 percent faster than with earlier versions. A vastly improved status indicator keeps users informed of how much time remains before all photos are cataloged.
It is free to use NeroKwik on two devices and all of the supported online services.
Native NeroKwik apps for iOS, Android and Intel-based Windows 8 devices are available for free from the iOS App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Marketplace. The new PC-based light client for Windows 7 and Windows Vista, NeroKwik Rover, will be available in the coming weeks at http://www.nerokwik.com.
