Mark Goldstein | Digital SLR Cameras | July 24, 2006 | 3 Comments

NikonHold onto your hats - Nikon have a new teaser ad campaign for a 10.2 megapixel digital SLR! Hot on the heels of Sony’s A100 camera, it seems that Nikon will use the same sensor and release the successor to the popular Nikon D70 / 70s. Maybe. Announced last week (on the day that I went on holiday), there are now just 16 days to go until Nikon’s new baby is born on August 9th…

Nikonians.org have named the body as the D80 and they have created a new "D80 Users Group" on their forums at http://tinyurl.com/zfnvm which is currently full of speculation about the new body.

Does this mean that Nikonians have broken any embargo that exists on the news of the new DSLR? Or is that forum just idle speculation on their part?! tongue wink

It's just idle speculation, but they are not the only ones as Ken Rockwell is at it too:
