New Article: “My First Photograph”
It’s a quiet News day today (Fridays always are), so I’ve posted a new PhotographyBLOG article called “My First Photograph”, in which I share with you the image that first sparked my interest in photography.

“I’m a relatively late-starter in the world of photography. I’m 28 years old and have only been interested in this wonderful hobby for about the last 2-3 years. So what made me become interested in photography?”
Now I want to know about you; what do you consider to be your first successful photograph, and how did you get interested in photography? After reading the article, I’d like you all to go and find the first image that you still fondly remember, scan it in, email it to me along with a brief story, and I’ll post them all on PhotographyBLOG.

Thanks for a wonderful article. I also came late to the photography game. I had a plastic fixed-lens Pentax in college, but could rarely afford film or development. Most of my pictures then were of drunken roommates (blackmail) or road-trip snapshots. My lovely wife gave me an EOS 630 with the 35-80mm kit lens for a wedding present when we were 24, and I was hooked. Eight years later, I bought a Canon G1 and went digital. Now 3 years later, I have a new baby girl, a puppy, and a renewed interest in capturing quality images.
My renewed interest in photography also came packaged with a desire to get some old-school equipment and see what I can accomplish without the aid of electronics. I purchased a Canonet rangefinder (currently being cleaned and adjusted), and am searching for an affordable TLR to try my hand in the medium format realm. I hope that learning the mechanics more thoroughly will make ALL my photographs better, with the side benefit having faster lenses than I currently own and being less intrusive on a child and puppy at play.
