I just recieved my package from Canon and it was like Christmas, I just loved the book The Eyes of EOS, and am so excited to sit down with it and a cup of coffee and dream of lenses I want to own! Hey, you can let Canon know if they want to test any, I’m willing.

I think it is ridiculous that the 1DmkII has been removed from the approved bodies list (not even valid for silver membership), yet the 40D is still on there!?
What the hell is that all about? Especially since the 1DmkIIN is still on the list (for both gold & Silver) yet the differences between the two versions are marginal (LCD screen and the ability to write to two memory cards at once being the major ones i can think of).

I am annoyed since i now do not qualify for membership, with a 5DII and 1DII, but someone with two 40D's would. Stupid.

I have three L lenses and a 30D body plus a 3D film body, I don't need to upgrade the bodies and don't intend to until they break down. I do not qualify for membership even though I have been a loyal customer to Canon for over thirty years! Perhaps it' time to change?
