New Look for PhotographyBLOG!
I’ve had several emails recently complaining that the layout of my blog is not what it should be in certain browsers (Internet Explorer 5 and Safari). In addition the old 2-column layout was inflexible and resulted in a long right-hand column which contained all things navigation-based. So I’ve decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and redesign the whole site so that it works in all modern browsers and so that there is a more adaptable 3-column structure.
As the redesign only went live about 10 minutes ago, there are bound to be some initial teething problems. If you spot anything that looks strange in any way, please send an email to:

Hmmm... a table-driven layout. That's so last millenium
Since you're already using CSS, you should have a look at http://glish.com/css/

Hi Fazal,

I've already tried out one of those templates from Glish
Unfortunately there's a slight problem in IE 6 - a horizontal scrollbar is permanently displayed, and the window doesn't resize too well.
Here's a test page showing the problem:

I think that's because the layout doesn't cope too well with floats within one of the column. IE5 has a buggy way of counting padding vs. margin, and this might explain why your design width is off by a few pixels, enough to cause the scrollbar to appear.
On Safari. there is text right of the 300D photo, causing the whole width to be in the 1600 pixels range for that article.
I guess you can always wait for IE5 to die out. I have a two-column CSS layout for my website, and it works pretty well on all browsers I tested it with, but also with Lynx and the Palm Tungsten T's web browser...

Thanks Bill.

I'm still ironing out a few bugs, but the re-design should be pretty much there or thereabouts now.
I'll be adding yet more new features to the site soon, so stay tuned...
