Thom Hogan has cast his critical eye over the new Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens.
“One of the surprises with the D200 announcement was that it could be purchased with a new DX wide angle to telephoto zoom lens. Having a kit lens for consumer camera isn’t new for Nikon, but this was a doozy: 18-200mm focal lengths plus vibration reduction and AF-S speed. This looked like the do-all, be-all lens for virtually everything except extreme wide angle, extreme telephoto, extreme macro, and extreme low light. In other words, a lens you would use most of the time.”

I have been using Nikon cameras for a long time . So when i thought i would try the digital world . I did write to nikon too see if ther where a new models coming out thier was know reply. So i went out at that time and steped into the D100. The next six months out comes the D200 a great camera . I had trouble with this d100 camera several months after having and Nikon ask me where on bought this from as it wqas conciderd a old camera well did my back go up did i have a right yes i did did i give it to then certainly . It seams customer relations is like every thing else in this through away world take the money and run and the hell with consummer . If you don,t think i call a spade a spade . I one time you would buy a camera and get better pricing now i have been told buy a lot of retailers they are not sell under thier ste price other giving 10% off the tist price so what i call this price fixing and who did this one Seiko watches and they where taken to cort and lost as if you own any product of any kind and turn around and sell it cheaper that is your stock and money know company has right to control you or your business. I call this Bully of industries and only if stores and retailers let them with threats. Nikon has made great products butt as time goes buy and thier products have been under the gun good Quality glass cheaply built. Some lenses that are very sharp to beet some of thier pro lenses . We the comsummer have a right to put them responsable for a good product and what we pay for . Ken
