I dont seem to understand the design Nikon is going for with here. The white one is quite an ugly duckling.

But then again, its looks far better than the uninspired V1, The J1 seems to be the only one that is bearable in the eyes.

Then again, those does not matter. I cant wait to see PhotographyBlog.com's review on this. :)

Nikon 1 was doomed from the start and this model will not save it. This is what happens when you get too "smart" and greedy!

I actually rather liked the utilitarian looks of the V1 & J1, this however is butt ugly.
It looks like the bastard love child of the generic looking Samsung and uninspired Sony NEX CSCs.
Especially the back where the buttons look like theyve come off an Atari games console.
Urghh, back to the drawing board Nikon.

Hands down, the v2 is the ugliest upgrade known to cameras. Oh dear Nikon, you caught the Minolta disease.

One ugly camera! Should have simply put all this wonderful technology and the 1" sensor into a version of the current P7700 body. Too bad. Wonder why Nikon has no faith in their own product development. Seems like the experience and expectations of the P7700 customer is the same as the 1 series V customer. Why not maintain some consistency here? Nikon does that so well in their DSLR line.

This new camera looks more like a Sony NEX system CSC than a Nikon - thats maybe no bad thing. I just wonder if Nikon have addressed the issue of the truly awful lenses supplied with the 1 series. The 10-30 and 30-110 lenses for example are particularly bad - way too much distortion and poor open aperture performance considering their price. I also wonder if the existing lens designs are up to the job of delivering 14+ mega pixel images. I had to use a Nikon F adapter with some decent Nikon/Nikkor lenses with my V1 to get satisfyingly sharp images! Now if only Nikon had bought out a fast, say f1.8 pancake lens at the same time as the new camera, we might have been looking at a good little street camera! It will be interesting to see what the new sensor is capable of delivering in terms of image quality and high ISO performance. I dont think I will ditch my D7000 and d300S anytime soon though!

The Sony NEX cameras look neither good nor bad, they are just under designed and resemble a pack of cigarettes. The Nikon V2 however, looks ugly at every turn, ever line, and is a mish mash of a potpourri of crapulance all rolled up in one. Some ones head at Nikon should roll for this. There is no way this camera should have made it onto the drawing baord, let alone production.
