Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.7.0
Nikon have released a new version, 2.7.0, of Camera Control Pro. This software allows photographers to control a camera remotely from a computer using either a wired or a wireless connection. Changes in this version include added support for the new Nikon D3s DSLR, Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and 10.6.1 as well as 32- and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate. Note however that in a 64-bit environment the software operates as a 32-bit application.

I think that 64-bit compatibility is a first step by Nikon in recognizing that 64-bit OS’s are in the mainstream and here to stay. Yes, they need to rewrite the code to run as a 64-bit ap. and this should come in 2010, IMO. For a model of how Windows should be supported, look at Epson. The R2880 driver for Vista ran fine under 64-bit Windows 7 RC. The day that Windows 7 (RTM) went on sale, this registered owner got an e-mail stating that the Win 7 driver was ready to download. Nice!

Installed Snow Leopard version of 'Update'. Horrendous and typically Nikon. Permanent 'No Camera Detected' message and crashes. There are now free alternatives that work - regret spending £130.
