Nikon has issued a firmware update for the Nikon Coolpix P7000 digital compact camera. Version 1.1 reduces the total recording time for raw files, and fixes a couple of bugs with lens control and occasional false indication of blown highlights on the LCD screen. Thanks Nikon, but it would have been better to fit the P7000 with a decent amount of CPU power in the first place.

See timing tests for firmware 1.0 vs 1.1 and the Canon G12 here: http://www.nikonhq.com/2010/12/p7000-firmware-1-1-how-fast-is-it/
