Nikon D700 Review
Stille Photographie have reviewed the new Nikon D700, the second full-frame, FX-series DSLR camera from Nikon.
“Whatever test I have done, overall, I am very happy with what I have found out. Yes, there are some topics and points, which I mentioned, because I do not like them, but the overall concept of the D700 is a very attractive one - a price, which is still more or less affordable, a camera with a lot of good and valuable features and which takes very good images. It is a very interesting and future oriented alternative to the D3 and should attract lots of happy customers. If I would have the money, I would sign into the already long waiting list of people who want to get it.”

Thank you for the review! I have been a Nikon user for many years; I am now using the Fugi S5 which replaced my D200. My husband uses a D300. After reading the reviews, I must say I am very interested in getting the D700. My only disappointment with the Fugi is the noise at higher ISO's.

This makes me think about moving over to Nikon once I'm ready to afford a Canon 5D. Really pleased that Nikon is offering this. Jay

Just got mine yesterday. My Heritage A1, T90, F100, D200, D300, D700. All I can say is if you care about light (or most importantly - lack there of), it is absolutely stunning. I snapped off a few handheld shots on my 80-200 2.8, at 1/250 @ 200/2.8 at dusk into my redwood forest and it was absolutely amazing. *Reasonable* noise level - not eliminated, but *very* good, best I've ever seen. In fact, you probably wouldn't pick it up much on a mid size print. This camera opens up a whole new range of photo-ops.
