Nikon D700 Review

Mark Goldstein | Digital SLR Cameras | July 25, 2008 | 2 Comments |

Nikon D700Luminous Landscape have reviewed the new Nikon D700,  the second full-frame, FX-series DSLR camera from Nikon.

“My take is that if you need the highest image quality, with the highest ISO capability, fastest frame rates, most rugged shutter, a vertical grip and release, and longest battery life, along with audio note taking and dual card backup capability, the choice has to be the D3. If smaller size, weight, and bulk are important, then the choice narrows. High ISO? Go for the D700 and get 95% of the D3’s goodness along with a saving of $2,000. No need for ultra-high ISO, on a budget, and do a lot of long lens shooting? Then, the D300 is a compelling choice.”

Great review. It's as expected. Nikon has another real winner with the D700. It will be interesting to see what Canon will introduce at Photokina (or before) as an answer to all the great cameras Nikon introduced recently (D3, D300, D700).

For many nature photographers, a D300 together with a D700 will be a great combo. That would allow them to shoot birds and other distant subjects with the D300 and use the D700 for landscapes and macro work. I shoot Canon right now, but if I had to start from scratch, that combination would probably be in my camera bag.

It's proven again that Nikon is the big 'guy' on the photography market. With Nikon D700 it has fill every need that a pro will need. In fact it's not far from its' 'brother' D3 not to say almost the same exept that D3 has longer 'life'.
I had or owned diffrent nikon camera bodies but this makes me more confident when I go to take pictures even though my D300 was pretty good.
The most I like is of course the 'FX' full frame fromat where I can use the wide angel lenses without being croped or any other film lens without being worried of 'DX' format anymore.
So far the best and to be honest I dreamed for D3 but now I wouldn't think any more that now I have the D700.
I think is the best in market.
