The movie Handmade is intended to show off the benefits of the new AF system as well as the general video recording capabilities of the Canon EOS 70D camera. That looks as is Canon get's usable live-view AF. Great, I was waiting for that.
There seem to be a couple of videos of tests floating around on youtube that look pretty amazing and seem to show that even focus tracking in live view works good.

The video is nice. The AF system looks good. But i feel the Nikon D7100 has a better Af system. They have 51 track points compared to the 19 in 70D.
One can check this to know more about the video shooting- http://www.squidoo.com/nikon-d7100-vs-d600-personal-review
