Official Sigma DP2 Sample Images

Mark Goldstein | Digital Compact Cameras | March 4, 2009 | 5 Comments

Sigma DP2Official sample images from the Sigma DP2 compact camera are now available. 17 images taken by four different photographers can be downloaded at the full 1760x2640 pixel resolution. Disappointingly, none of the images use an ISO speed faster than 200, and some of the have been “retouched by the photographer”. The Sigma DP2 is a compact camera with a 14 megapixel Foveon X3, APS-C sized sensor, 41mm lens with an aperture of f/2.8 (f4 on the DP1), and the “TRUE II” image processing engine.

4 Japanese photographers? I don't think so! Look at their names! How would you know an image was retouched? Where does that say that? And what do you mean by "retouching" in the first place? The term is very ambiguous here. Did you notice how good these samples look, however?

moi, my mistake on the photographer's nationality.

The Sample Image page clearly states at the top:
"Some images may have been retouched by the photographer."

Actually, not far at all. What you say makes no sense, unless you are comparing it to a $2500+ camera.
