Olympus mju DIGITAL 800 Review at DCResource

Mark Goldstein | Digital Compact Cameras | September 16, 2005 | 1 Comments

Olympus mju DIGITAL 800DCResource have just reviewed the new Olympus mju DIGITAL 800 digicam.

“I have to admit that I wasn’t really excited about the Olympus Stylus 800 when I first took it out of the box. But after using it for a while I kind of grew to like it—well, most of it at least. While I think the 8 Megapixel resolution is going over the top (and the image quality suffers a bit as a result), the Stylus 800 is a competent compact camera that also happens to be weatherproof.”

I was interested in this camera for its in-camera red-eye removal, but
according to the review, it does not work. I also found out that it does
not have an AF assist lamp, and its anti-blur function works merely by
stepping up the ISO, sometimes as high as 2500. On the bright side,
the camera's burst mode shoots 1.4 frames per second at the highest
quality setting, WITHOUT BLACKING OUT THE SCREEN.
