I have only had the Olympus Sp700 for a couple of weeks, but so far I have found it to be very good. The 1cm macro is a great and seems to show very good detail, such as the pollen on a Bee foe example. The 3inch screen is very clear although sometimes a little hard to see in the brightest sunlight. There are a lot of different scene modes that cover nearly every topic.. The start up and shut down are very quick. I have found this to be a good point and shoot camera and an ideal back up to a DSLR or larger bridge type camera.
I am only an amateur photographer, so my opinion is not based on super critical technical details. I would gladly recomend this camera to a friend! I have been very pleased with this camera in the short time I have had it

SP700 is a great camera. One small point - The red light on the back is constantly on - I cannot find out why. Is this normal and should it be on all the while. As far as I can tell the battery is fully charged.

A great little camera that can be put in your pocket. I am in real estate and the camera is easy to take photos and put inside your jacket pocket or a holster.
