Jessops Press Release

Friday 20th February, 2009 – Jessops, the UK’s leading photographic retailer has announced the launch of two new exclusive cameras; the Olympus X890 and X915 - both in brilliant black. Priced from £259 and £299 respectively, the Olympus X890 and X915 are accessible cameras and make excellent addition to Jessops range.

Weighing in at a slender 125g and 137g both these cameras punch above their weight. Encased in a slim black metal/aluminium body the X890 has 10 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and 2.7 LCD screen, whilst the higher spec X915 has an impressive 12 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, and 2.7 LCD screen.

For ease of use the Olympus X890 and X915 both encompass an in-camera help guide for easy operation, making them the camera of choice for even the most technophobic of users! Red eye will also no longer be a problem with the red eye editing function - great for removing those devil eyes.

I could have written this review without ever using the camera... sounds like it was transcribed from the manufacturer's website.

I was looking for a review. You reviewed exactly nothing at all.

Since when did it say it was a review. It's clearly labelled news, and following the initial paragraph are the words 'press release'...

I love my new X890. Takes great shots. Only suuggestion would be to print the manual as one always want to try it out ASAP.Still it is very intuitive. Users ofother Olympus cameras will have no trouble. After getting some of my VAT back at Heathrow it coat me only about 100 pound from & tzt included a conversion power plug for Australia.

Upravo sam kupio OLIMPUS X-915 mislim da je dobar
vreme će pokazati dali je i kvalitetan. Odlućio sam se za OLIMPUS jer sam 2004. Kupio OLIMPUS 3,2 MP
Koji me još danas služi kao nov, ako će i ovaj toliko potrajati onda nemam rijeći.

Mislim da sam napravio dobru odluku kupujući ...

Without doubt the worst camera i have ever been in possession of.
The quality of the pictures is very poor, i tried every setting on this camera and tried it for 1 month and in the end gave it to my 10 year old daughter and invested in a lumix dmc lx3

Sorry to say that I have been very disappointed with the x-915. I bought it in an emergency after I dropped my Samsung just before our holiday. It would have been preferable to have gone without a camera!

Seriously - dont buy one of these. I have had two Olympus cameras in the past - c-700uz and c765-uz. I bought this as I wanted a smaller one to take out and about on holiday as my other 2 are quite bulky. Both previous olympus cameras I have had have been excellent however the X915 was very disapointing.

Like one of the reviewers above I have tried every combination of settings and the result is still poor photos. Focusing is slow and almost always never that great. Photos that my other olympus camera (from 2003) would take no bother in low light - this one struggles and automaticaly puts on the flash. Only thing it seems to do well is macro pictures.

I eneded up using my old camera after a few days of my holiday as this camera was dire and majority of photos were very poor.
