I love the Lumix series of cameras. The GF2 looks fantastic.

The GF2 records stereo sound though the mics seem to be in an odd place that is not centered by the lens.

I agree about the mic. Why is it that so many of these cameras have mics on top, and not directional where the lens is facing? I don't get it. Sure it's nice to be able to change the recording level, but the amount of noise you pick up from the sky where it's pointed is going to be annoying.

I have to say I am quite surprised that Panny cannibalized the LX5 with this one. It's almost going to make me want this camera with a couple of good lenses instead of getting the LX5, which I had considered, since the price just went down.
The GF2 even has 1080i, and that's something I've always wanted in a compact. Also, the GF2 will give me better options for longer focal lengths than the LX5.
Is Panny phasing out the LX series now? Is that what's happening? Sure looks like it, doesn't it?

I really don't think the new features will warrant GF1 owners to upgrade wink

The GF1is an 'enthusiast' camera and I can't find any compelling
reason to 'upgrade' to the GF2 unless You need the movie feature
real bad. Othrewise same sensor, less hard buttons and a touch
smudge screen. Looks like a 'point and shooter'upgrade to me.
That new grip looks ugly.
