Panasonic Outlines Lumix G Plans for 2010
Panasonic has provided some more clues about its 2010 plans for the Lumix G camera system. In a presentation at the Panasonic Convention 2010 in snowy Munich, Germany, Pansonic’s main aims for Lumix G, which currently incorporates the Four Thirds (L10) and Micro Four Thirds (GF1, G1, GH1) models, were briefly outlined as follows:
- Expand Lineup
- Pursue Easy Operation
- Expand Lens Lineup
The second point is particularly interesting following the recent unveiling of the Olympus E-PL1, a Micro Four Thirds model specifically aimed at users upgrading from a compact camera. We also know that Panasonic will be introducing 2 new cameras at the Focus on Imaging show in the UK on March 7th, after they ran an online banner ad on their own website last week, one of which will definitely be a Lumix G model.
Panasonic have today also announced new 48Gb and 64Gb SDXC cards, which will come with a free SDXC USB reader to prevent Windows from inadvertently formatting the unrecognised card. No pricing or availability date yet.

This statement is wrong:
".... which currently incorporates the Four Thirds (G1, GH1) and Micro Four Thirds (GF1) models, ..."

"...currently incorporates the Four Thirds (G1, GH1) and Micro Four Thirds (GF1) models..."
CORRECTION: All of these (G1, GH1, GF1) are Micro Four Thirds models. Panasonic's only Four Thirds camera is the DMC-L10 DSLR.

They are quite expensive on their own, on eBay they are selling for more than $900, while 65-200mm lens for G1 would be selling for around $400.
