Leash by Peak Design is billed as a complete re-definition of the classic camera strap that offers endless configurations, an elegant quick-connect system, and rugged minimalist design. Eliminating the clumsiness and bulk that typically characterise camera straps, Leash ($40) is built from custom-woven 3Ž4 inch seatbelt webbing that glides smoothly across your shoulder and chest. The quick-connection system utilises tiny anchors made of braided Kevlar and glass-filled resin that attach to any loop on your camera gear. Leash’s simple design allows it to be configured as a neck strap or sling strap. Leash can also attach to your camera to any point on your clothing or gear to act as a safety strap. Peak Design is also offering a smaller version of Leash — dubbed Cuff ($20) — that utilises the same quick-connection system but works more like a wrist strap. Those pre-ordering the products via the project’s Kickstarter page can take advantage of a special limited-time offer ($15 off from the regular price of Leash and a $5 discount on Cuff).

Peak Design Launches Leash™
Introducing the world’s most versatile, quick-connecting camera strap.
San Francisco, CA (Nov. 24, 2012) — From the makers of the revolutionary Capture® Camera Clip System, comes the next evolution in active lifestyle camera carrying systems: Leash®. Leash® by Peak Design is a complete re-definition of the classic camera strap that offers endless configurations, an elegant quick-connect system, and rugged minimalist design. Leash® is easily and quickly configured as a neck strap, sling strap, safety tether or video stabilizer and fits comfortably inside a pant pocket.
Traditional camera straps are often difficult to attach and detach, limited in application, bulky in size and expensive. Staying true to their mission, Peak Design solved these common dilemmas in a simple, intuitive format. Leash’s® innovative quick-connection system utilizes tiny Anchors made of braided Kevlar and glass-filled resin that attach to any loop on your camera gear. When connected to Leash, these Anchors are built to withstand 200 lbs. of force — more than enough to guarantee safety for any size SLR camera body and lens.
Leash’s® simple design allows it to adjust to twice its own length, allowing the user to configure it as a neck strap or sling strap. Leash® can also attach to your camera to any point on your clothing or gear to act as a safety strap or video tensioner. Additionally, users of Peak Design’s popular Capture® Camera Clip System rejoice: Leash® is fully compatible with Capture, providing an additional level of security for your camera.
As with all Peak Design products, Leash® is built to withstand rugged outdoor environments with an eye toward minimalist design. Eliminating the clumsiness and bulk that typically characterize camera straps, Leash® is built from custom-woven 3Ž4 inch seatbelt webbing that glides smoothly across your shoulder and chest when worn, yet fits comfortably in a pant pocket when you don’t need it.
Peak Design is also offering a smaller version of Leash® — dubbed Cuff® — that utilizes the same innovative quick-connection system, but shortened appropriately for a convenient connection from your camera to your wrist.
Both systems will launch nationally Friday, November 23rd at a special limited-time discount exclusively available on Kickstarter.com.

About Peak Design
Peak Design is a professional-grade camera accessory brand dedicated to engineering thoughtful solutions to improve the way photographers transport and manage their cameras. During a six-month international travel sabbatical, company founder Peter Dering became frustrated by the lack of elegant solutions to holster his SLR camera in the field. Upon return to the US, Peter founded Peak Design with the vision to create intuitive and innovative camera solutions for demanding environments. Peak Design’s flagship product, The Capture® Camera Clip, cleanly secures any camera directly to your belt or pack strap during field operation and ignited a hugely successful Kickstarter.com campaign in 2011 that launched the brand to national prominence.
