Pentax Enters the Cameraphone Market

Pentax has announced plans to start production of 2 and 3 megapixel modules for the cameraphone market. In a brief report on NE Asia Online, this move is part of a wider strategy to boost non-camera based revenue - “Noncamera operations are expected to account for 75% of operating profit for fiscal 2006 if the three-year business plan goes ahead as projected, the officials added.
