The Photographic Museum of Humanity has announced its 2013 Grant, an international photographic contest that aims to discover new talents. Photographers are invited to submit a series of maximum 15 photos before 18 February 2013. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize guarantees respectively $2,000, $1,000 and $500 in cash. There will also be a New Generation Prize of $500 dedicated to photographers under 25 and a Public Favourite Prize (also $500). In addition, the winners will be granted an exhibition in the photographic museum of Humanity. The contest has no entry fee.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MUSEUM 2013 GRANT
December 17th, 2012 ? The Photographic Museum of Humanity is pleased to announce its 2013 Grant, an international photographic contest that aims to finance talented photographers and discover new talents. Magnum photographer Martin Parr, TIME Magazine director of photography Kira Pollack and Perpignan young reporter of the year Sebastián Liste compose the jury that will award a total prize of USD 4,500 in cash.
Photographers are invited to submit a Series of maximum 15 photos before February 18th, 2013. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize guarantees respectively USD 2,000, USD 1,000 and USD 500 in cash. There will be also a New Generation Prize (USD 500) dedicated to photographers under 25 and a Public Favorite Prize (USD 500). The contest has no entry fee.
The winners will be also granted an exhibition in the Photographic Museum of Humanity.
About the Photographic Museum of Humanity
The Photographic Museum of Humanity is an independent project founded in August 2011 with the aim to create the first online museum dedicated to photography, made with the best works of its international community members. A place where photographers will have the opportunity to show their talents and get known. A space where people, regardless of their age, culture, education, religion and nationality, will have the possibility to learn and get closer to the photographic arts.
The web platform that will host the Museum was launched in July 2012, and the Museum will inaugurate in January 2013, featuring curated individual and collective exhibitions that will renew in time.
About the Jurors
Martin Parr is full member of Magnum Photos since 1994. He has developed an international reputation for his innovative imagery, his oblique approach to social documentary, and his input to photographic culture. He has had more than 60 books published, and featured in around 80 exhibitions worldwide.
Kira Pollack is the Director of Photography at TIME where she oversees the photographic vision of TIME, TIME.com and all digital media. In October 2011, she was named the photo editor of the year at the Lucie Awards. Since Pollack joined TIME in October 2009, the brand’s photography has been recognized with many prestigious awards.
Sebastián Liste is a photographer and a sociologist working across many aspects of contemporary life in Latin America and the Mediterranean Sea area. Sebastian’s work has been internationally recognized. In 2012 he has won the prestigious Remi Ochlik Young Reporter of Perpignan award.
